Summer student needed to coordinate the Summer Arts Program for Kids (July 14 – Aug. 15) for Summerland Community Arts Council. The student will be responsible to the office manager Jane Curtin and will be assisted by artist in residence, Martha Swinn.

- starts June 16 and ends August 23
- 35 hours a week
- $11 hour
- Applicant must be a full time student and planning to return full-time in the fall
- Applicant must be 30 years of age or under at time of hiring
(Note: The last two criteria are a requirement of government funding.)
Duties include: - advertising program, taking registrations, working closely with instructors and clients as required, purchasing materials and helping out in programs if necessary, keeping track of finances, organizing raffle to help support program, writing a final report, helping out in gallery and with Art Walk and other programs/activities as needed.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of the arts, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and to be flexible are also requirements. Preference will be given to a Fine Arts student as this position is seen as a career prep opportunity.
